Meet Dr. Stylianou
|
Dr. Popi Stylianou is originally from Nicosia, Cyprus. Upon graduating first in her class from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Dentistry, in Greece, she worked in private practice as a general dentist for two years. Subsequently, Dr. Stylianou obtained her Certificate in Periodontics and Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. In addition, she completed a one-year implant and prosthodontic fellowship on complex implant restorations and full-mouth rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota’s Implant and Contemporary Dentistry Center. Dr. Stylianou is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology. Her extensive training includes surgical periodontal and implant procedures, surgical treatment of periodontitis and peri-implantitis, soft tissue regeneration, periodontal adjunctive surgeries to orthodontics, as well as immediate temporization of implants for optimal esthetics. Her grasp of prosthodontic principles allows her to manipulate soft tissue and facilitate the restorative phase for her referring colleagues. In addition to her private practice commitment, Dr. Stylianou is a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry in both graduate and undergraduate clinics. During the past four years, Dr. Stylianou has been an active member in the Admissions Committee, and a Thesis Committee member for many of the Graduate Periodontics residents. Dr. Stylianou’s current research interest focuses on Osseodensification. She is currently participating in a multicenter study evaluating Osseodensification and implant primary stability. During her free time, Dr. Stylianou enjoys spending time with her family with hobbies in photography and interior design.
